Personal tax-free allowance | £11,500 |
|
Your Personal Allowance goes down by £1 for every £2 that your adjusted net income is above £100,000. This means your allowance is zero if your income is £123,000 or above. |
|
You also pay no tax on the first £1,000 of interest received, or the first £5,000 of dividends |
|
|
Marriage Allowance | up to £1,150 can be transferred to a husband or wife who earns more than you, if you earn less than the taxfree allowance |
|
|
Blind Persons Allowance | £2,320
|
|
UK Rates of Income Tax
|
Basic Rate 20% | £11,501 to £45,000 |
|
Higher rate 40% | from £45,001 to £150,000 |
|
Additional rate 50% | from £150,001 |

Scottish Rates of Income Tax

Basic Rate 20% | £11,501 to £43,000 |
|
Higher rate 40% | from £43,001 to £145,000 |
